VALLEY / Varietal(s): N/A --- This is the second year Leif Sundstrom has been making his amazing ciders, and luckily for us, unlike last year, he actually made enough to sell! Sponti is a veritable orchard full of apple varieties, many of them heirlooms, from three different sites, and is fermented using the wild yeast found on the apples and bottled unfiltered with a gracious amount of sparkle. Ever so slightly cloudy, it displays clean, complex apple flavors, for the most part eschewing a more funky style. Gentle tannins balance out the fruit, and make it incredibly versatile and food friendly. Try it with fava and chorizo flatbread.
Jolie-Laide Wines Trousseau Gris Russian River Valley Fanucchi Wood Road Vineyard 2015 - SKIN FERMENTED
Country: USA / Region: CALIFORNIA / Appellation: RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY / Varietal(s): TROUSSEAU GRIS --- Trousseau gris is an increasingly rare variety that once thrived in California viticulture. Now it’s hovering near extinction, except for a few old vines like the nearly 40 year old planting at Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard. Founder of Jolie-Laide, Scott Schultz, began as a sommelier at Bouchon in Yountville, before switching to the production side of wine with a job as cellar manager at Realm, and then becoming Assistant Winemaker at Wind Gap. “Jolie-Laide” is a rough translation of the French for “unconventionally beautiful”, and although these wines may defy convention, they are certainly beautiful! The grapes are crushed by foot and left on the skins whole cluster for about a week, extending the time on the skins to maximize texture and aromatic complexity. Then they are pressed, fermented and aged in neutral oak barrels for 6 months. The skins contribute a bright coral color to this daring, light and pretty wine, making it a surprising delight. Bright and focused, it walks a tantalizing tightrope, managing to be wildly floral yet savory with a visceral complexity. A luscious blend of wild pomelo, melon, quince, tarragon, white tea and sweet earth come together for a harmonious and elegant finish. Try this with baked trout stuffed with herbs.
Domaine le Prieuré d'Arras Saint-Joseph AOC 2012 - ORGANICALLY GROWN
Country: FRANCE / Region: RHÔNE VALLEY / Appellation: SAINT-JOSEPH AOC / Varietal(s): SYRAH --- The domaine of Etienne Becheras lies within the village of Arras overlooking the Rhône River on the western side. Farmed organically, almost all work is done by hand, a necessity due to the steep terraced vineyards. Four hectares of vineyards are within the appellation of Saint Joseph, of which 3.6 hectares are planted to syrah. Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, the syrah spends 18-24 months in barrel before being bottled without fining or filtration. Becheras is known for producing classic, joyful wines, and this Saint-Joseph is vivacious, spicy and meaty. Graceful, supple tannins make this a winner with sausage and collard greens or crispy roast chicken.

Chris Blanchard started his career in the music industry at the age of 14. Hosting a late night radio show mixing and scratching records led to opportunities touring with hip/rap legends RUN DMC, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, after releasing his hit single "That's the Way Girls Are". Simultaneously developing a passion for wine, Chris began working at every level of the wine business (retail sales, working the floor at top restaurants, as a cellar rat during harvest) before becoming a Master Sommelier. Chris's hit record was the inspiration for his wine "Down by Law". Sourced from select vineyards throughout Napa Valley, Lake County and the North Coast, this cab has some pretty smooth moves, with aromas and flavors of ripe blackberry and hints of chocolate, coffee and leather. Suave and clean-cut, without being oppressively jammy, this hits all the right notes for California cab lovers looking to add to their lineup! Try it with classic grilled steak or sweet potato pie.
