ELEGANT PROVENÇAL ROSÉ AND CHILEAN CARMENÈRE
Bieler Père et Fils Rosé Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AOC Cuvée Sabine 2015
Country: FRANCE / Region: PROVENCE / Appellation: COTEAUX D'AIX-EN-PROVENCE AOC / Varietal(s): GRENACHE+SYRAH+CABERNET SAUVIGNON+CINSAULT+ROLLE --- Year after year, this rosé is one of the best in the market at this price point. American founder Charles Bieler named this wine after his daughter Sabine, whose arrival coincided with the first vintage in 2005. Bieler has been the lynchpin in many value-oriented wines over the last decade, including working with his father and sister when his family owned Château Routas, also in Provence. Bieler Père et Fils is an homage to his father Philippe, who introduced Charles and his sister Mira to the wine industry. Fresh and vibrant, with a delicate, elegant quality, this hints at notes of apple and freesia, making it perfect for any outdoor sipping and grilling.
Viña Marty Carmenère Valle del Maule DO "Pirca" 2012
Country: CHILE / Region: MAULE / Appellation: VALLE DEL MAULE DO / Varietal(s): CARMENÈRE --- Originally from Bordeaux, carmenère has found a home in Chile, where it thrives. A "pirca" is a traditional Chilean wall surrounding a property, made with rocks mixed with mud and straw, and topped with tiles to protect it from the elements. It provides the inspiration for this cuvée, which encompasses the succulent combination of lush, intense fruit with the unique terroir of the region. Robust and spicy, with flavors of black fruit and touch of smoke. Big and fruitful with just a kiss of oak, this bottle is ready for burgers, ribs, and pulled pork!
