REFRESHING FRENCH PICKS
La Louvetrie Muscadet Sèvre et Maine AOC Sur Lie 2014 - CERTIFIED ORGANIC

Country: FRANCE / Region: LOIRE VALLEY / Appellation: MUSCADET SÈVRE ET MAINE AOC / Varietal(s): MELON DE BOURGOGNE --- Over the past several years, there appears to be a growing consensus that Muscadet is one of the best and most consistent values in white wine. It's hard to argue with the quality; the wines are dry and clean, tasting specifically of the region. Made from the grape melon de Bourgogne, Muscadet is the classic companion to briny oysters and shellfish. Joseph Landron worked with his father for 12 years before continuing on his own. Landron drastically re-shaped this estate, making it one of the most respected in the appellation while simultaneously helping to put Muscadet on the map. Today, he works 114 acres of vines divided among three estates. The wines are certified organic by Ecocert, but Landron works biodynamically, with native yeasts. This is dry, flavorful, tangy wine perfect for sipping or with shellfish.

Domaine des Deux Puits Côtes du Roussillon AOC Rosé 2015
Country: FRANCE / Region: ROUSSILLON / Appellation: CÔTES DU ROUSSILLON AOC / Varietal(s): GRENACHE+SYRAH --- From the warm, dry Roussillon in southwest France comes this delightful summer sipper, made from handpicked, direct-pressed fruit to retain its freshness and acidity. A blend of 90% syrah and 10% grenache, this lovely deep salmon colored rosé is soft on the palate with abundant red berry notes. It charms your palate with texture and fruit without being sweet. Try pairing this with egg salad and grilled peppers and summer squash.
