Luis Pato Vinhas Velhas Vinho Regional Beira Atlântico 2015
Country: PORTUGAL / Region: BEIRA / Appellation: VINHO REGIONAL BEIRA ATLANTICO / Varietal(s): BICAL+CERCEAL+SERCIALINHO --- Luis Pato (Portuguese for "duck") is perhaps the best-known producer in Bairrada and Beira. Generally recognized as the modernizer who revitalized a struggling region, he is perhaps better viewed as a neo-traditionalist, as his winemaking style remains rooted in the traditions of the area. He is also a champion of indigenous grape varietals, and three of these relatively obscure grapes make an appearance here in this compelling white. 40% bical, 40% cerceal, and 20% sercialinho, this is a late-summer treat: crisp and refreshing with touches of citrus and stonefruit and just a hint of nuttiness. Throw some swordfish kebabs on the grill and enjoy at your next garden party!

La Spinetta "Il Rosé di Casanova" Toscana IGT 2016
Country: ITALY / Region: TUSCANY / Appellation: TOSCANA IGT / Varietal(s): SANGIOVESE+PRUNELLO GENTILE --- Giorgio Rivetti produces approachable yet age-worthy wines that capture the attention of wine critics and consumers year after year with their elegance, concentration, aromatics and length. This wine comes from his Tuscan estate, Casanova della Spinetta, located in the hills south of Pisa. Pale salmon with a touch of orange, this rosé displays delicious complexity with hints of roses, red berries and wilted wildflowers on the nose offset by aromas of lime and sage. A tasty late summer wine with flavors of tart cherry, pomegranate, and honeysuckle with a mineral and floral finish, its complexity makes it suitable for aging, while being equally delightful to drink right away! Perfect with poultry, fish, or with any type of appetizer, preferably enjoyed outdoors!
