Trousseau is a grape variety generally associated with the Jura region of eastern France. Though not commonly seen in California wines, especially by itself, here it shines through the work of winemaker Chris Miller. This trousseau comes from the gravel-rich soils of the Siletto vineyard in San Benito County. It begins with a gentle earthiness, tart cranberries, and a hint of palo santo, followed by mulberry, blueberry, wild black raspberry, and elderberry. Lightly grippy and savory, it finishes with a flourish of pink peppercorns and herbs. Organically grown.
