The word Alpamanta means "love to earth" or "terroir" in the native Quechuan language, as working and co-existing in harmony with nature and the environment have always been key elements of ancient Indian culture. In 2005, Andrej Razumovsky, his cousin Andre Hoffmann from Switzerland, and Jeremie Delecourt from France came together to establish Alpamanta winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Their winemaker, Giuseppe Franceschini, has studied oenology in Italy, and has made wine in Veneto, Fruili, and Sicily. The vineyards sit at a very high altitude with lots of sunshine (3,117 ft. above sea level) with rich clay soil enriched with alluvial deposits that allow for excellent drainage. This malbec sees little intervention in the winery, is fermented with indigenous yeast, and is grown organically in the field to allow this bold and juicy malbec’s true character shine. It also sees no oak; it's fermented and finished in stainless steel, allowing the fruit and natural grape tannins to come through. Certified organic.
