|Vineyard/Cellar Practices||Certified Organic|
Altos de Montanchez is run by two best friends, Juan Sojo and Ángel Luis Gonzáles, who studied oenology together and wanted to make wine together. Ángel comes from an agricultural background, while Juan comes from chemistry, making quite the dynamic duo. They have a passion for their homeland of Extremadura, Spain, and had a desire to prove its winemaking potential while employing organic viticulture. Their vineyards are all certified organic, and they follow some biodynamic principles like working according to the lunar phases. This orange wine is a blend of equal parts pardina and cayetana, with the skin contact lasting for one month in amphora, with an additional three months in amphora after pressing. The wine is clean, delicate, and dry with pretty, floral and citrus-driven aromatics and flavors. It has a touch of earth and stone fruit that peek through on the palate, and it is intriguing in that it continues to change as it opens up. Certified organic.
