|Vineyard/Cellar Practices||Organically Grown, Low-Intervention/Natural Wine, Vegan|
Angiolino Maule is a man with a deep passion and respect for his vineyards, but he actually started his working life as a pizzaiolo, or pizza maker, of some renown in Italy. He was able to work hard and save enough money to purchase his own winery in Gambellara, in the Veneto, with the garganega grape as his star. Gambellara is located close to the foothills of the Soave region, which are volcanic with rich, dark, mineral soil that features a good amount of fine clay. His passion is found in the fact that he has never used any soil treatments, chemical or otherwise, in the 16 years he has owned his property. Using biodynamics, he has created a healthy soil and ecosystem that benefit vine health, and he also has a very hands-off philosophy in the winery as well. He uses no temperature control, sulfur, enzymes, or commercial yeast, and bottles all of his wines unfined and unfiltered. The ‘I Masieri’ is vinified in stainless steel and displays bright, tart green apple and citrus qualities with a saline minerality. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
