Domaine Pérol was founded in 1912 in the village of Chatillon d’Azergues in southern Beaujolais. The village is part of a group of villages known as the Pierres Dorées (Golden Stones), named after the golden colored limestone of the area. Fifth-generation winemaker Anthony Pérol is currently at the helm of the domaine, continuing his family’s respect for both winemaking tradition and the biodiversity of his vineyards. The estate has been certified organic since 2005, and all grapes are hand harvested. This Nouveau sees carbonic maceration for 6 days in stainless steel vats before undergoing malolactic fermentation in cement vats before bottling on 10/6/2020. Juicy and quaffable, it still provides plenty of depth, with savory pepper notes, a supple mouthfeel, and delicate floral accents. Certified organic, vegan.
