Perched above the Mediterranean, between Marseille and Toulon, Bandol favors the sea-and-sun-loving mourvèdre. No wonder then, that Bandol AOC is the only appellation where mourvèdre must constitute the majority of the blend. Robert de Salvo’s family has maintained vineyards in the heart of Bandol for five generations—primarily selling the harvest to the local cooperative; Robert is the first of his family to develop a winery on the estate, beginning in 2010. Together with winemaker Romain Bournaud, he has quickly established a reputation for excellent Bandol rosés and reds, farmed according to lutte raisonnée principles. This rosé combines the particular depth of flavor of mourvèdre with the freshness and playfulness of grenache and cinsault. Brambly fruit and minerality meld with lush passionfruit on the finish. Sustainably grown, vegan.
