Domaine Blard & Fils produces organically-grown wines from high-altitude vineyards in the Alps. Thomas, who has now largely taken over operations from his father, Jean-Noël, has focused particular attention to the domaine’s jaquère and altesse whites. Those emblematic Savoie grapes have gained recognition across the region and beyond. Their ‘Micraster’ is 100% jacquère, from 30-year-old vines in the Abymes subregion. After fermentation with native yeasts, it ages for three months in stainless steel. Herbaceous and packed with minerality and citrus, this alpine white pairs just as well with a summer campfire as an après-ski fireplace gathering.
