Broc Cellars was founded by Chris Brockway and built on a philosophy of sourcing sustainable and organic fruit on the way to creating exceptional wines. He takes a hands-off approach, allowing nature to be in charge, using only organic growing practices and indengous yeasts to ferment his wines, never adding or taking anything away. Chris partnered with importer Selection Massale for the La Boutanche project. The La Boutanche line started in 2012, when the importer was disappointed by the lack of good natural wines in the $20 price range, so they enlisted the help of several winemakers to make their own ‘La Boutanche’ with fun, eye-catching labels to distinguish which winemaker made which cuvée (we also carry Oliver Minot’s, featuring the pig with sunglasses). Broc’s is mostly zinfandel, with additions of carignan and valdigué, to make a juicy, balanced, easy-drinking natty red with hints of spice and fine tannin. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
