Create an accountBunnahabhain, which means “mouth of the river” in Gaelic, was named such because it stands at the mouth of the Margadale Spring on the shores of the Sound of Islay. The distillery was born in 1883, but its origins can be traced to 1879 when William Robertson of Robertson and Baxter Blending House joined with the Greenless Brothers to create the Islay Distillery Company, which would become Bunnahabhain. The 12-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whiskey was first introduced in 1979 and received great acclaim. It has a harmonious balance of sweet fruits, nuts, vanilla, with a delicate coastal influence without any peat smoke.
