|Appellation/Sub-Region||Rías Baixas DO|
|Vineyard/Cellar Practices||Organically Grown|
The Carballal estate encompasses 15 hectares of vines on the weathered, sandy granite soils of the sub-zone of O Salnés, in the heart of the Rias Baixas region of northwestern Spain. The Vásquez Abal family have worked their land for over 40 years, with a focus specifically on organically farmed albariño. Vineyards are worked and harvested by hand, and all fermentation is done with native yeast. ‘Sete Cepas’ is 100% albariño from younger vines within the estate’s A Granxa vineyard, and is fermented in stainless steel and aged on the fine lees. Lively aromas of sea spray, white flowers, yellow peach and nectarine lead into a refreshing palate followed by a long, briny finish. Elegant yet totally refreshing, this begs for seafood (although it’s incredibly tasty with other light fare as well!) Organically grown.
