|Vineyard/Cellar Practices||Biodynamically Grown, Low-Intervention/Natural Wine, Vegan|
Just outside the city of Mâcon to the southwest lies the picturesque village of Loché, complete with 12th-century church and rural charm. An island in a sea of grape vines, Loché sits on clay-limestone soils perfect for cultivating chardonnay grapes. No wonder that the village lends its name to two AOC designations: Pouilly-Loché and Mâcon-Loché. Céline and Laurent Tripoz’s winery is situated right in the village and produces chardonnays from both appellations. Biodynamic since 2001, the domaine has received certifications from both Demeter and Ecocert. This 2018 Mâcon-Loché “Cuvée du clocher” (in reference to the iconic belltower of the Loché church) is hand-harvested, fermented with natural yeasts, unoaked, unfined, and has no added sulfites. It develops warm aromas of hazelnuts and spice in the glass, with beautiful roundness on the palate and lemon-grapefruit acidity to finish. Biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
