Charlotte Hardy, middle name Dalton, is the proprietor of Charlotte Dalton Wines in Australia, and she has been making wine all over the world for close to 20 years, enjoying drinking it for even longer. She says, “I think wine can be felt. I get so much joy making the Charlotte Dalton wines that surely, you will feel the joy when you drink them. I firmly believe that a wine must be made with a happy heart and a content soul”. This 100% pinot noir comes from the Adelaide Hills and is fermented whole cluster with no punch downs or pump overs—just left to be in a low intervention style. It is pressed to new French oak to mellow through the winter, and this gives it wonderful balance and a balanced influence of oak and spice. It is light and lively, with peppery black cherry fruit classic of pinot noir. Delicate hints of smokiness and a savory undertone make this a lovely match at the table. The finish is clean, dry, and silky. Sustainably grown, vegan.
