Charlotte Hardy, middle name Dalton, is the proprietor of Charlotte Dalton Wines in Australia, and she has been making wine all over the world for close to 20 years, enjoying drinking it for even longer. She says, “I think wine can be felt. I get so much joy making the Charlotte Dalton wines that surely, you will feel the joy when you drink them. I firmly believe that a wine must be made with a happy heart and a content soul." Some of her wines are named after what her mother would say to her and her three brothers every night before bed, “love you, love me—love me, love you”. This 100% shiraz comes from 20 year old vines grown in the Adelaide Hills. It was fermented with indigenous yeast (including 30% whole cluster fermentation), yielding succulent red fruit notes. It was then matured in French oak barrels, 30% new, resulting in a balanced vanilla and spice character. A bit on the lighter side for Australian shiraz, here the beauty of the grape itself shines through, staying dry and balanced without overwhelming tannin or oak influence. Sustainably grown, vegan.
