The Gadais family has been producing muscadet for five generations in the Loire village of St. Fiacre-sur-Maine. Going even further back in history, the melon de bourgogne grape has been documented in the Loire Valley since 1616. It was first mentioned in a lease for a vineyard located in the Navineaux - the vineyard, in fact, where fruit for this bottle is grown. That combined history adds up to delicious results, and this cuvée displays tons of character. The Navineaux is rich in amphibolite, a type of metamorphic rock that imparts distinctive minerality to the wines from that region. Classic aromas of lemon, green apple, and sea spray yield to a palate that is zesty and bright, with stony minerals alongside a clean core of citrus. Leesy layers bring depth and savory umami-like notes to a refreshing finish. Sustainably grown.
