Domaine Glinavos is situated in a beautiful area of Greece with a state-of-the-art winemaking facility nestled among the traditional architecture of Epirus (inland and northwest towards Albania). It was founded in 1978 at the hill of Prophet Elias in Zitsa, by the oenologist and viticulturist Lefteris Glinavos, whose main concern was for the winery to be in harmony with the features and characteristics of the area. The vineyard is located in a semi-mountainous microclimate in one of the most remote areas of the country. Their Paleokerisio is an "orange" (skin contact during fermentation yields a color similar to honey, tea or cognac), semi-sparkling, semi-dry wine, made with 97% debina (an indigenous white grape) with 3% vlahiko (an indigenous red grape). Zero sulfur is added. Light natural carbonation reveals the richness of flavors and aromas enhanced by a delicate sweetness on the finish. It is aromatically complex while both rich and refreshing on the palate, exhibiting flavors of apple butter with a mild oxidation and just the slightest hint of vanilla and spice. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
