Jennifer Clark and Andrew Scott of Eminence Road Farm Winery clearly care deeply about the process that goes into making their small-lot wines. Not only does their website describe each stage—from hand harvesting and crushing to low-intervention fermentation and bottling without fining or filtration—it also features a gallery of photos of happy dogs and people bringing sustainably-grown grapes from the shores of the Finger Lakes to their winery in a Catskills barn. This riesling is an excellent example of the complexity and depth possible in wines from New York state. Lamb’s Quarters vineyard, where the grapes for this wine come from, is located on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake and managed by Mark Wagner. With intriguing aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, apple, and citrus, this is light and bright, crisp and clean, without any funkiness. Totally unique and delicious! Sustainably grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
