Flâneur Wines brings a handcrafted sensibility to pinot noir and chardonnay grown on estate-owned vineyards in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. They draw from two vineyards: Flanerie in the Ribbon Ridge AVA and La Belle Promenade in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. The former, representing the warmer of the two sites, faces east and consists of sedimentary soil sprinkled with glacial erratic stones. The latter sits at a higher elevation, on top of a hill of volcanic soils. The cooler microclimate of La Belle Promenade brings out bright, floral notes in the pinot noir and other varieties planted there. This cuvée, drawn exclusively from La Belle Promenade, shows the best of that unique location. Fermented with indigenous yeasts (22% whole cluster), it ages for a year in French oak, of which 38% is new. Concentrated flavors and a rich texture complement and mellow the natural brightness of a cool-climate pinot. Here is an opportunity to experience site-specific expression of pinot noir from an Oregon producer that takes the health of their soils as seriously as they do the quality of their winemaking. Organically grown, vegan.
