Flâneur Wines brings a handcrafted sensibility to pinot noir and chardonnay grown on estate-owned vineyards in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. They draw from two vineyards: Flanerie in the Ribbon Ridge AVA and La Belle Promenade in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. The former, representing the warmer of the two sites, faces east and consists of sedimentary soil sprinkled with glacial erratic stones. The latter sits at a higher elevation, on top of a hill of volcanic soils. The cooler microclimate of La Belle Promenade brings out bright, floral notes in the pinot noir and other varieties planted there. This cuvée, which combines aspects of both areas, ferments naturally with indigenous yeasts and ages in 5% new French oak. With woodsy cedar and mushroom notes on the nose, it unfolds layers of cherry fruit over time. Medium-bodied, with structured tannins, this deeply flavorful pinot finishes with a drizzle of unsweetened chocolate. Organically grown, vegan.
