Le Petit Domaine de Gimios was established in 1993 by Pierre and Anne-Marie Lavaysse in Saint Jean de Minervois in the Herault region of the Languedoc. The vineyards are incredibly old, some dating as far back as the first decade of the 1900’s, and have been completely restored by Anne-Marrie who obtained biodynamic certification for them. Because of the age of the vines, they are incredibly low-yielding but are full of character. The grapes for the Rouge Fruit cuvée all come from the same parcel that was planted in 1908 and purchased in 2006, and contains a vast array of different grapes, many obscure and indigenous. The grapes are all co-fermented to create a wild, juicy, tart, “bottled alive” blend full of red fruit character with vibrant acidity. Certified biodynamic, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
