Domaine Les Hautes Noëlles is a family property founded in 1930 in the village of St Leger les Vignes, and is in the appellation "Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu". A manuscript has referred to vines being grown in the village as early as 1180. To preserve the environment, they are committed to the process of organic farming. For many years, no herbicide has been used and they have excluded all chemical from our their plots, using only natural products. This red blend consists of roughly 45% grolleau noir, 45% gamay and 10% cabernet franc, varying slightly by vintage. It is full of fresh fruit and pepper and has soft tannins but balanced structure. Grolleau noir is one of the Loire Valley's workhorse grapes, used most often in the production of rosé wines under the Rosé d'Anjou AOC. The variety is deeply pigmented but lacks character and concentration, making it ideal to soften bolder blends while adding color. Sustainably grown.
