The Henry McKenna brand is produced by Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky (The Bourbon Capital of the World). It’s named after Henry McKenna, an Irish immigrant who adapted his family’s whiskey recipe to work with the grains that were available in Kentucky, highlighting the best of both worlds. It is a single barrel offering, meaning the Master Distillers selected a specific barrel as having exceeded their expectations. This bottling is the only extra aged Bottled-in-Bond single barrel bourbon. On the nose, it has vanilla, caramel, oak, and a touch of herbs, while the palate exudes smooth oak, sharp spices, honey, and a touch of sweetness with an incredibly long finish.
