|Grapes||Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer|
|Vineyard/Cellar Practices||Organically Grown, Low-Intervention/Natural Wine, Vegan|
Long-time friends Patrick Sullivan and Xavier Goodridge have been enjoying adventures together since the age of 18, when they headed to London to explore the local wine scene. Based in Gippsland, they have each gained a loyal following for their individual winemaking, and share a deep connection and commitment to organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyards and cellar. Jumping Juice is their collaborative project - a playful tribute to their shared sense of adventure and friendship, and a chance for them to experiment with parcels of fruit from all over the country, with an emphasis on making incredibly drinkable, fun wines in a low-intervention manner. ‘Yellow’ is mostly sauvignon blanc, which is fermented whole-cluster on its skins in stainless steel for three weeks. A touch of gewürztraminer adds aromatic intrigue. Sunny and energetic, the sauvignon blanc drives the bus (or more likely a van with a surfboard strapped to the roof!), with the gewürztraminer providing “color commentary” along the ride. Dry, fun, and outgoing - it positively explodes with aromas of lychee, green bell pepper, and crushed herbs. On the palate it is zesty and funky, with flavors of tropical fruit and grapefruit pith. Perfect for New Zealand sauvignon blanc lovers who want to “funk it up” a bit! Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
