Domaine Kumpf et Meyer was founded in 1997 by Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer, both children of Alsatian winegrowers. They've worked organically since the beginning. In 2010 Philipe left, and Sophie continued work at the domaine, assisted by Julien Albertus. Julien began transitioning to biodynamic techniques in the vineyards. The domaine encompasses 16 hectares spread out on 70 small parcels extending 15 km north to south across 5 communes in Alsace. Y’a Plus Qu’a is a blend of sylvaner and pinot auxerrois. This liter is bottled without the addition of sulfur, and bursts with spicy jasmine and honeysuckle on the nose. On the palate juicy quince, tart cider apples and tropical fruit mingle with mouthwatering chalky minerality and savory lees-y texture. A delightful sunny quaff!
