La Cave de Gigondas was founded in 1956 in the heart of Dentelles di Montmirail, in the commune of Gigondas in the Rhône. Their vineyards cover 260 hectares producing Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Beaumes de Venise wines, as well as Côtes du Rhône, Villages, and IGP. A cooperative effort of passionate winemakers across all ages and lifestyles, they practice sustainable farming, hand harvest their grapes, and rigorously select the juices for their cuvées. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 60% grenache noir, 30% syrah, and 10% mourvedre and cinsault. A classic example of Vacqueyras with balance, character, and finesse, it has wonderfully dark fruit notes with touches of roasted herbs and graphite on top of a full-bodied, rich frame.
