Once the home of some of the world’s most sought after wines, the Rheingau fell to mediocrity in the years following WWII. Johannes Leitz took over his family's vineyard in 1985 and, in the decades since, has made it his life’s work to reclaim the intrinsic quality of his native terroir. Now hailed as one of the finest producers in Germany, Johannes has grown his holdings from 2.6 hectares to over 40, gathering national and international accolades for his outstanding wines along the way, particularly his rieslings. In 2007 the ‘Eins Zwei Zero’ label of zero alcohol wine was created to offer the best quality wines possible for those who don’t want to consume alcohol but still want to enjoy a glass of wine. The wine is de-alcoholized via vacuum distillation, which removes the alcohol under extremely low pressure and temperature, thereby preserving the nuances of aroma and flavor. Riesling is the flagship grape of Leitz, so it’s a natural progression that the Eins Zwei Zero Riesling would be the estate’s first alcohol-free wine produced. This sparkling riesling is produced from grapes harvested from young vines, and is fresh and vibrant, with lime, citrus, and apples on the palate. The off-dry finish is clean and refreshing with delicate mineral notes - perfect for sipping on its own, or for adding to cocktails or mocktails! Sustainably grown, vegan.
