Les Tètes is the collaborative project of four friends: Nicolas, Philippe, Baptiste, and Vivien. Wine made by friends, meant to be drunk with friends: fresh, easy-drinking, and affordable bottles from organically grown grapes fermented with indigenous yeasts and with minimal sulfur. This small wine collective is located in the Loire Valley village of Le Pressoir in Touraine Azay-le-Rideau. The vineyards are nestled in the pristine lands surrounding Château de Rigny-Ussé, near the birthplace of Honoré de Balzac and the workshop of Alexander Calder. ‘Tète Blanche’ is a blend of biodynamically farmed chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc, roussanne, and chardonnay, all hand harvested, destemmed, and spontaneously fermented in concrete with ambient yeasts. Minimal sulfur is used, and bottling occurs without fining or filtration. Light and textured, a burst of lemon lifts juicy layers of apricot, nectarine, and white peach, before finishing with clean mineral notes. Biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
