Sometimes called the “Grand Cru of the Midi (South of France)”, the top level wines of Mas de Daumas Gassac are prized by fine wine lovers throughout the world. Located in the Gassac Valley, the domaine was founded in 1974 by Aimé & Véronique Guibert. They planted 40 different grape varietals, including several from rare and uncloned vines found in far reaches of the world. Today the family business is run by winemaker Samuel Guibert and his four brothers. Their estate was farmed in a traditional, sustainable way for generations before the Guibert family arrived, and when they established their vineyards, they embraced this philosophy and became the first estate in the Languedoc to adopt organic farming practices. Several years ago, the Guiberts began partnering with a cooperative in nearby Sète to produce approachable, flavorful wines from the rocky hillsides. The Moulin de Gassac wines, named after the patron saint of the village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, are all farmed organically and vinified with close oversight by the Guibert family. This lively, aromatic white is 40% grenache blanc, 30% sauvignon blanc and 30% terret, one of the oldest grape varietals in Languedoc, prized for its ability to retain high acidity even in the blazing southern sun. Fresh and thirst-quenching, it delivers notes of white and golden flowers, crisp orchard fruits, and a squeeze of citrus. Certified Sustainable.
