Magali and Noël Bazin grow chardonnay in the village of Villers-Marmery, on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Most of their harvest goes into this cuvée, which they call ‘L’unanime’. We don’t have the data to weigh in on the unanimity of public opinion, but there isn’t much debate around here about how good it is. A third of the cuvée comes from their solera and another ten percent is reserve wine aged in oak. Textural and slightly oxidative but still crisp, it leads with green apple and almond, with a creaminess on the palate and a cleansing lemon finish.
