Founded in 1996, O’Shaughnessy Estate sits astride 120 acres in the legendary Howell Mountain appellation in Napa, at an elevation of 1800 ft. Known for their iconic expressions of cabernet sauvignon as well as historic Bordeaux varietals, winemaker Sean Capiaux utilizes modern equipment and a hands-off approach in the cellar to produce wines that reflect their unique terroir and varietal character. The Napa Valley cab is a blend of fruit from O’Shaughnessy’s Oakville, Howell Mountain, and Mt. Veeder vineyards, mingling layered aromas of violets, wild plum, blackberry, and sandalwood. On the palate it is deep and concentrated, with plush notes of blackberry, plum, cassis, tobacco, and dark chocolate, supported by well-integrated tannins and flourishes of blood orange, green herbs, and spice on an elegant finish.
