If you’re a fan of Sancerre, you will appreciate Pascal Jolivet’s ‘Attitude’ rosé, from the Touraine, a neighboring area to Sancerre in the Loire Valley. While Jolivet’s wines from the prestige appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé can fetch considerably higher prices, his team takes just as much care with this deliciously approachable and fantastically priced regional release. ‘Attitude’ rosé is a blend of equal parts pinot noir, gamay, and cabernet franc, grown on a mix of chalk and calcareous clay soils, and selected and sorted by hand. Winemaker Valentina Buoso ferments with indigenous yeasts in temperature-regulated stainless steel. A beautiful petal-pink hue, it unfurls delicate layers of dusty cherry blossom, Rainier cherry, and white peach across the nose and palate, followed by a zesty squeeze of ruby red grapefruit throughout a long, refreshing finish. Organically grown.
