Ribbonwood wines are made by Andrew Headley, an Englishman with a PhD in Applied Chemistry. He moved to New Zealand in 1993, and pursued his passion for winemaking five years later. This white wine has all the characters expected from a Marlborough sauvignon blanc: beautiful ripe citrus notes with underlying a fresh herbal aromatics. The herbal notes follow through on the palate along with some stony minerality and bright, zesty, citrus. The fruit is sourced from a selection of five Wairau Valley (90%) and one Waihopai Valley (10%) vineyards. This wine has all the characters expected from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The Wairau sites typically impart a mixture of tropical and citrus notes whilst the Waihopai site brings a subtle herbal element to the wine.
