Vincent Ricard makes delightfully crisp white wines toward the eastern end of the Touraine, in the Loire Valley’s sauvignon blanc territory. Like many French winemakers of his generation, Vincent took over his family estate—where grapes have been grown for five generations—and founded a winery that has gained an international reputation. Along the way, he converted the family’s vineyards to organic practices. His ‘Le Petiot’ comes from 30-year-old vines and ages on the fine lees in stainless steel. About 20% of the vintage also ages in old barrels. Sunny citrus mingle with the herbal aromas of summery meadow. Certified organic.
