This juicy, savory red comes from the El Ardal vineyard, just south of the town of Requena in Valencia. These old vines (58+ years old) are planted on sandy clay soils and farmed organically. Fruit is hand harvested, fermented with native yeasts in stainless and cement tanks, and aged mostly in stainless with a small amount in old foudres for three months, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. This certified organic cuvee is primarily made from the bobal grape, with a small amount of tempranillo, and is delightfully easy-drinking! Crunchy bright red fruit forms a juicy core embellished with savory herbal notes and a lightly earthy finish. The festive wrappers on the tops of vines (depicted on the label) are firecrackers used for the Fiesta de Fallas, on March 19, to celebrate happiness – and this bottle is sure to give your taste buds are reason to celebrate!
