Azienda Agricola (farm winery) Ronchi has been a family owned company for four generations, passionately devoted to Barbaresco wine and the nebbiolo grape. Today, the objective of the family is mainly to preserve the integrity and fertility of the soil by eliminating the use of herbicides and chemical fertilizers and the limitation of mechanical processing and cultivation in between rows of herbs that promote biodiversity and balance of the soil. They have a small 6 hectares in Barbaresco and Roero, with their soils in Barbaresco being structured with limestone and clay. Their Barbaresco shows an elegant nose full of red fruit like raspberry, plum, strawberry, and rhubarb jam with a touch of cinnamon, pepper, and balsamic. The palate is full with softer tannins than most nebbiolo with tons of warmth and a hint of licorice on the finish. Sustainably grown.
