Create an accountRose Hill Farm was established in 1812 on land Peter Fraleigh purchased in 1798. In 2001, six generations later, Rose Hill Farm was honored by the New York State Agricultural Society as the only fruit orchard among the 10 Bicentennial Family Farms. Owners Dave and Karen Fraleigh transitioned the farm from a wholesale apple orchard to a Pick Your Own farm, over twenty years ago, expanding the crops to include cherries, blueberries, peaches, raspberries, pumpkins, and winter squash in addition to apples. In 1998, the Fraleighs sold their development rights to the Scenic Hudson Land Trust, which through a conservation easement protects farmland and helps preserve the Hudson Valley’s world-renowned landscape. In November 2015, Bruce and Holly Brittain and Chris Belardi purchased Rose Hill Farm, with the shared vision to grow the Pick Your Own orchard, while remaining stewards of the land. “Kitchen Sink” is the premier cider release from Rose Hill: a delicious blend of heirloom, bittersweet, and culinary apples from both their own orchard in the Hudson Valley as well as the Finger Lakes. Bone dry, it displays a generous nose of honeyed golden apples (almost evoking a chenin blanc), while on the palate it offers up more succulent yellow fruit, with earthy, yeasty hints. It is fermented with wild yeast in pet-nat style (bottled before primary fermentation finishes to yield a natural sparkle) and is bottled unfiltered and unfined with no added sulfites.
