Marc de Grazia, the American-born proprietor of Tenuta Terre Nere, was integral to the elevation of Mount Etna red wines to world-class status two decades ago. Taking full advantage of the volcanic soil and high-altitude microclimate of the mountain, Terre Nere wines exude minerality, freshness, and aromatic complexity. Their Etna rosso consists of 95% nerello mascalese and 5% nerello cappuccio. It ages in large French oak casks for 16 months, plus an additional month in stainless steel. Aromas of fresh earth and freshly-ground coffee frame bright red berries and pomegranate, with tannin and acidity in balance over a base of sea-salt minerality. Certified organic.
