|Vineyard/Cellar Practices||Organically Grown, Low-Intervention/Natural Wine, Vegan|
Terroir Al Límit is known for single-vineyard expressions of cariñena and garnatxa, made in a refined, Burgundian-inspired style, in contrast to the full-bodied, extracted wines typical of Priorat. Winemaker Dominik Huber’s bottlings are notably leaner and lighter than those of his neighbors, with far less ripeness and alcohol than most other wines from the area. His Terroir Històric label offers wines made with grapes sourced from organically farmed vineyards all around Priorat’s nine villages, providing an affordable, authentic regional expression. Garnatxa and cariñena grown on Priorat’s noted llicorella soils, as well as some clay and alluvial plantings, are fermented whole cluster with native yeasts and see 10 days of skin maceration before aging for six months in large concrete tanks. Terroir Històric Red displays Huber’s restrained approach to great effect, with herbal berry aromas and a taut, brambly palate of black raspberry, strawberry, cherry, dried herbs, pepper, and minerals. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
