Foradori Manzoni Bianco Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT "Fontanasanta" 2014 - CERTIFIED ORGANIC/ BIODYNAMIC
Country: ITALY / Region: TRENTINO-ALTO ADIGE / Appellation: VIGNETI DELLE DOLOMITI IGT/ Varietal(s): MANZONI BIANCO --- Elisabetta Foradori nearly single-handedly changed the thinking on a local grape called teroldego. When she matriculated from oenology school, she continued the conventional farming practices of her father, those that she had been taught in school. As she began to realize this was a mistake, she began converting to organics and biodynamics, This changed the quality of the wines and brought attention back to the teroldego grape. She has now turned her focus to white grapes with equal success such as this manzoni bianco, a crossing of riesling and pinot bianco. This is fresh and clean, but with a bit of weight on the palate. Look for stonefuit flavors but also bright melon. A unique wine for a special meal.

Johnson Family Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2013 - SUSTAINABLY GROWNCountry: USA / Region: CALIFORNIA / Appellation: SONOMA COAST / Varietal(s): PINOT NOIR --- Here's a great value brought to you by one of our importers, David Bowler Wines. They've contracted this private label from a few great winemakers, producing chardonnay, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon from select vineyard sites. The producers have all requested anonymity, suffice it to say that these wines drink at a quality much higher than their prices, lucky us! Low yields, sustainable farming and minimal intervention are hallmarks of these wines. 25% of the pinot noir for this bottle is from the highly acclaimed Russian River Valley. The wine spent 13 months in barrel, giving it a lush richer mouthfeel. A lovely, aromatic flavorful choice, American pinot noir is almost as classic as zinfandel for Thanksgiving, and goes even better with all the food you'll be enjoying!

Stolpman Vineyards "Para Maria de Los Tecolotes" Ballard Canyon 2014
Country: USA / Region: CALIFORNIA / Appellation: BALLARD CANYON / Varietal(s): SYRAH  --- Stolpman Vineyards is considered the founding vineyard of the Ballard Canyon AVA (American Viticultural Area, akin to the French AOC system), which was granted official status 2 years ago. Over a dozen wineries have joined the AVA and all have decided to focus on syrah, based on Stolpman's results in varietal experimentation. "Para Maria de Los Tecolotes" is a partnership with Stolpman Vineyards' vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano and his wife Maria, their forewoman. 15% of this wine underwent whole-cluster carbonic fermentation in sealed stainless steel, adding a joyful freshness. 85% was native yeast-fermented in unsealed concrete tanks, and left on the skins for three weeks. This delicious, dark-fruited, densely colored syrah retains a liveliness that will brighten up your holiday meal, whether you opt for turkey, lamb or that earthy lentil centerpiece.

Clos des Fous Maule Valley "Cauquenina" 2012 - ORGANICALLY GROWN
Country: CHILE / Region: MAULE VALLEY / Appellation: MAULE VALLEY / Varietal(s): CARIGNAN+MALBEC+SYRAH+PAIS --- Clos des Fous, "winery of the crazy guys", is a project of four friends who found extreme terroirs in Chile where they are making some great wines inspired by those of Burgundy, where viticulturist Pedro Leyton and winemaker Francois Massoc both trained. This organically grown blend is from a dry-farmed vineyard with 80+ year old vines on original rootstock. The name "Cauquenina" refers to a woman from the city and province of Cauquenes where the vineyard is located, and hints at the feminine quality of the wine. Although robust and full in texture, there is a softness to this as well, fine tannins show off some herbal, leathery savory notes. Complex and minerally, this unique red with blackberry, blueberry, baking spice tones seems perfectly suited for dishes of the season, game bird with clove-scented gravy, savory porcini stuffing, orange peel and sage roasted fennel and butternut squash.
