Free Wine Tasting - Friday

Per Ora Prosecco DOC Extra Dry NV
Country: ITALY / Region: VENETO / Appellation: PROSECCO DOC / Varietal(s): GLERA AKA PROSECCO --- Until 2009, prosecco could refer to either a wine or the grape varietal. That year, the grape was renamed glera in Italy in order to preserve the quality of the wine being labeled Prosecco, limiting that use to the DOC and and DOCG regions in the Veneto. Sourced from vineyards around Treviso, this Prosecco is classified as "extra dry", which is the next level of sweetness from "brut". Great for toasting all by itself, and excellent with shellfish, light cheeses, and in mimosas and bellinis, sounds like a great weekend!

Señorio de Astobiza "Zollo" Arabako Txakolina DO 2014
Country: SPAIN / Region: BASQUE COUNTRY / Appellation: TXAKOLINA DE ARABAKO DO / Varietal(s): HONDARABBI ZURI+PETIT COURBU --- Founded in 1996, this estate has focused on vineyard management. Tight spacing of the vines is the rule, creating more competition among the plants and creating better fruit. Summer days are well suited to Txakolina, the Basque refreshment poured from a distance to promote its fizzy nature. This wine is light and crisp with citrus and hints of melon on the palate. This is the kind of wine you can drink all day and well into the evening. Well suited to shellfish, this will also work with grilled or roasted sole finished with a squeeze of lemon and a few capers.
Regular Price: $16.99     Tasting Sale Price: $15.29

Moulin de Gassac Pinot Noir Pays d'Oc IGP 2014 - ORGANICALLY GROWN
Country: FRANCE / Region: LANGUEDOC / Appellation: PAYS D'OC IGP / Varietal(s): PINOT NOIR --- This wine hails from an estate that has been farmed with natural and traditional methods for a thousand years before the Guibert family established the Grand Crus vineyard of Gassac. Today, as a practicing organic estate, they continue to respect and preserve the balance of nature. An elegant light red with a slight brick hue, this pinot noir displays a classic, delicate nose of candied cherries, light roasted notes, and a touch of mocha. Lush fruit makes for a mouthwatering palate offset by balanced freshness and soft tannins on the finish. Enjoy this finely made pinot with grilled salmon, lentil or pasta salads, or turkey burgers.
