Free Wine Tasting - Friday - Discounted 10%

Made from two native grapes, catarratto and grecanico, our first wine, a new Italian white, proves that Sicilian wines can indeed be crisp and refreshing! Then we're opening our newest Daily Deal, an easy-drinking, unoaked Côtes-du-Rhône that's made for casual sipping with or without food.
Alcesti "L'Isola dei Profumi" Terre Siciliane IGT 2014
Country: ITALY / Region: SICILY / Appellation: TERRE SICILIANE IGT /Varietal(s): CATARRATTO+GRECANICO --- This Italian white delivers plenty of freshness despite its Sicilian origins. Made from two native grapes; catarratto and grecanico, its name translates as "Island of Fragrances," showcasing the fresh aromas meant to evoke Sicilian sea breezes.  And while aromatic it certainly is, it remains crisp and refreshing, thanks to hand harvesting and cool temperature fermentation. On the palate it shows green apple, sour melon, and a touch of stoniness. Enjoy this with cod with a cider vinaigrette.

Domaine Courtois Côtes du Rhônes AOC "La Source" 2013
Country: FRANCE / Region: RHÔNE VALLEY / Appellation: CÔTES DU RHÔNE AOC / Varietal(s): GRENACHE+SYRAH --- Domaine Courtois is an estate owned by the Jaume family, going back several generations. It’s now headed by Pascal and Richard Jaume, who remain committed to continuing the tradition of quality established by their father, Claude. Taking advantage of vineyards located in the Vinsobres area of the Rhône, a region that combines the best attributes of both the northern and southern parts of the valley, this primarily grenache-based blend is hand harvested and sees no oak. This results in a wine with bright, pure fruit character, as the grenache presents clean, easy drinking fruit on the palate, accented by syrah, which lends light spice and complexity. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins, this is a great weeknight sipper, and an excellent value that works with cold cuts, pasta, pizza, or all by itself.
