Andreas Gsellmann Weissburgunder Burgenland 2015 - CERTIFIED BIODYNAMIC
Country: AUSTRIA / Region: BURGENLAND / Appellation: BURGENLAND / Varietal(s): WEISSBURGUNDER AKA PINOT BLANC --- Andreas Gsellmann is a seventh generation winemaker, working biodynamically on his family estate that dates back to the 1800s. The Gsellmann winery is located in the famed wine city of Gols in Austria's Burgenland, on terroir surrounding Lake Neusiedl. 100% weissburgunder (pinot blanc), grapes for this cuvée come from the Goldberg vineyard, which consists of red Danube gravel and sandy, iron-rich loam, located on the Pandorfer plateau near Lake Neusiedl. The lake provides a moderating climate that is especially favorable for pinot blanc. The grapes were foot stomped, and allowed to stay on the skins for two hours before being moved to stainless steel tanks where the wine was fermented spontaneously. After fermentation, the wine spends six months on the fine lees in 500 liter barrels. Vibrant and oh-so-refreshing, this bursts with complex apple, pear, and stonefruit flavors, delicate notes of almond blossom, and precise minerality. A crisp, elegant selection at a price that's hard to beat! Great with fish tacos, shrimp pad Thai, or party-ready snacks like fresh pretzels or nachos.

Domaine de l'Ostal Minervois AOC Estibals 2016
Country: FRANCE / Region: LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON / Appellation: MINERVOIS AOC / Varietal(s): SYRAH+CARIGNAN+GRENACHE --- In the foothills of the Montagne Noire, halfway between the medieval town of Carcassonne and the old Roman port in Narbonne, lies Domaine L’Ostal Cazes. It encompasses 150 hectares of land (including 60 ha of vines and 25 ha of olive groves.) Boasting one of the finest terroirs in the Languedoc, L'Ostal takes its name from the term "ostal" meaning both "house" and "family group" in the ancient Occitan language. The domaine was purchased in 2002 by Jean-Michel Cazes, the owner of Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac. Cuvée Estibals is named for one of the finer parcels in the domaine and is one of our favorite new wines to hit the shelves! Luxurious layers of fleshy dark fruit - plum, brambly black raspberry, and black currant - are joined by a touch of wild herbs and barnyard earth. Silky in texture, this makes a fantastic match with hearty stews, braised short ribs, chili, or smoked black bean dip. A fantastic cold weather companion!
