Weingut Weszeli Grüner Veltliner Langenlois Kamptal 2017 - CERTIFIED ORGANIC + LOW INTERVENTION
Country: AUSTRIA / Region: KAMPTAL / Appellation: KAMPTAL/ Varietal(s): GRÜNER VELTLINER --- Located around the town of Langenlois in Austria's famed Kamptal, the vineyards of Weingut Weszeli comprise 30 hectares of some of the finest grüner veltliner and riesling the region has to offer. Since 1679, the Summerer family has cultivated grapes and produced wine in the area. Today, Davis Weszeli and Rupert Summerer have taken that family knowledge and tradition and applied it to their own wine philosophy: "Principle Terrafactum", which places the vineyard and its incredible biodiversity at the center of their work. Believing that the true character of the wine is formed in the vineyard, they encourage the interaction of flora and fauna during the grape growing process, and this respect for nature continues through a gentle vinification that leaves intact the purity of grape and terroir. This grüner is a delight for the senses: intense aromatics of green apple, wildflowers, and white pepper lead to a palate of high-toned orchard, melon and stone fruit with racy acidity and undertones of tarragon, green olive, and flint on a textured, lingering finish. A refreshing, elegant pick for hot weather – serve this moderately chilled (too cold will mute the aromatics!) with a salad of arugula, grilled peaches, chicken, and corn, and spicy cashew dressing.

Mas de Libian "Vin de Pétanque Vin de France 2018 - CERTIFIED BIODYNAMIC + LOW INTERVENTION
Country: FRANCE / Region: RHÔNE VALLEY / Appellation: VIN DE FRANCE / Varietal(s): GRENACHE+SYRAH+MOURVÈDRE --- Mas de Libian has been a working farm since 1670, and has remained in the Thibon family since its inception; nowawdays helmed by Hélène Thibon! Farmed biodynamically since the 1960s, this entry level red is a fantastic value in natural wine. This grenache-driven stunner also boasts some mourvèdre and syrah. "Pétanque" is a popular Provençal game of boules (akin to bocce), and this wine is meant to be drunk young with friends in casual settings. Fermented exclusively in concrete tank, it's bottled unfiltered, with the barest smidgen of sulfur added at bottling. Gorgeous aromatics of red flowers, orange rind, and grenadine perfume the air, leading to juicy, electrifying flavors of blackberry, spice, and hints of lavender and thyme. Mouthwateringly succulent, crunchy, and fresh, this is fantastic slightly chilled with olive bread, saucisson, hard cheeses, and good friends!
