Domaine de Belle Mare Picpoul de Pinet AOP 2015 - BIODYNAMICALLY GROWN
Country: FRANCE / Region: LANGUEDOC / Appellation: PICPOUL DE PINET AOP / Varietal(s): PICPOUL --- The all-female team at Domaine de Belle Mare lets a simple philosophy guide their winemaking: "Live to the rhythm of the vineyard to achieve the best possible yield, in the most natural manner." The estate is situated next to the Thau Lagoon/Lake, a hub of oyster and mussel farming in the region, and the largest white wine region of the Languedoc. Picpoul is an ancient Languedoc grape variety native to the banks of Lake Thau that ripens later than most, and when planted in a dry climate, it takes advantage of the humidity of the late season to complete its maturation. The domaine produces an elegantly styled picpoul with beautiful salinity, texture and brightness, with a subtle nose of white flowers and hawthorn. Biodynamically grown.

Château Coulonge "Hommage" Bordeaux Supérieur AOC 2014 - SUSTAINABLY GROWN
Country: FRANCE / Region: BORDEAUX / Appellation: BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR AOC / Varietal(s): MALBEC --- Château Coulonge is located 50km southeast of the city of Bordeaux, in the town of Mourens, between the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers. It is a family-owned estate that has been passed down generation to generation in the Roux family since 1804. The current winemaker, Nicolas Roux, has been in the process of converting the estate to organic since 2015. The ‘Hommage’ cuvée was developed in tribute to Nicolas’s grandfather, Raymond, who had a passion for malbec. While it flourishes in the vineyards of Mendoza in Argentina and other regions throughout South America, it is in the Aquitaine region where malbec was born and raised. Basking in the warm summer sun of southwest France, these malbec bunches achieve perfect ripeness. Fermented with native yeast, this bottling gives plenty of luscious plum fruit and silky tannins in the glass. We should take a cue from the Argentines and pair this bottle with a grill full of meats, mushrooms, sausages and summer squashes! Sustainably grown.
