Benmarl Dry Rosé New York 2018 Can 250 ml
Country: USA / Region: NEW YORK STATE / Appellation: HUDSON RIVER REGION / Varietal(s): CABERNET FRANC + MERLOT --- From Benmarl, one of our favorite local producers, rosé in a can! Benmarl Winery, owned and operated by the Spaccarelli family, sits among the lush green hills of Marlboro, New York just fifteen minutes from Beacon! Overlooking a beautiful valley, the 37-acre estate lays claim to the oldest vineyard in America as well as the first ever farm winery license to be issued in New York. This oh-so-versatile rosé doesn't disappoint: aromas of ruby red grapefruit, Rainier cherries, and wet strawberries yield to juicy red fruit on a palate that's light, clean, and refreshing. At only 12.2% alcohol, this makes a perfect, portable day-drinker. The 8.8 oz cans make a great serving size (or grab 4 cans for the equivalent of a liter bottle!) as well as a handy companion to Fall hiking in the Hudson Valley! Lovely with summer squash, mushroom, and goat cheese puff pastry - or sandwiches, salads, cheese plates... you get the idea!

Strangeways Chardonnay California 2017 - SUSTAINABLY GROWN
Country: USA / Region: CALIFORNIA / Appellation: CALIFORNIA / Varietal(s): CHARDONNAY --- Strangeways is produced in Buellton, California, in the Santa Ynez Valley. The area boasts a large Emu and Ostrich preserve, which was the inspiration for the label. A collaboration between Communal Brands and winemaker Serghei Stanila, this chardonnay is a delicious new value. The juice is a blend of fruit from varying regions ranging from Napa Valley to the Central Coast, all sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards. Contrary to what many of us expect in a bottle of California chard, this one sees no oak, fermented instead entirely in stainless steel. 15% of the juice undergoes malolactic fermentation, lending a lovely creamy texture on the palate. It is then fined and lightly filtered. Medium-bodied, it displays classic pineapple, golden delicious apple, and kiwi flavors, accented by creamy vanilla notes and a silky, clean finish. Incredibly drinkable and a great value to boot, this wine might just become your new go-to, even if you’re as picky as an Emu! (Emus are very picky!) A versatile partner with food, enjoy with grilled chicken and avocado sandwiches.

Simon Hackett Wines "The Gatekeeper" Shiraz South Australia 2015
Country: AUSTRALIA / Region: SOUTH AUSTRALIA / Appellation: SOUTH AUSTRALIA / Varietal(s): SHIRAZ --- Simon Hackett grew up steeped in winemaking: born in the Barossa Valley, his family home was located next to the Saltram Winery at Angaston.  The fourth generation of Hacketts to pursue an agricultural calling (starting with his great-uncle in 1860), Simon began his career in winemaking at the age of 18, apprenticing at Saltram under Master Winemaker, Peter Lehmann. He joined the winemaking team at Southern Vales Winery in McLaren Vale in 1973, and in 1984 established his own boutique winery in an old cellar on a hill overlooking the McLaren Vale. That life experience shows in his “Gatekeeper” shiraz. Grapes were sourced from the McLaren Vale and the Riverlands region, fermented in stainless steel, then matured in American oak hogsheads. Bottled unfiltered, this is full bodied, with concentrated cherry, plum, and blackberry fruit, and hints of peppery spice on the finish. Bold, friendly, and vivacious, this remains fresh and food friendly. Pick up a few for the season's last BBQs!
