La Vie en Bulles ("life in bubbles") was made in collaboration with Michael Cruse, in an off-dry style inspired by the wines of France's Bugey-Cerdon. This 100% pinot noir offers up soft bubbles, a deliciously fruitful (tart apple pie, raspberries, white cherries, and limestone) character, and loads of fun. A fantastic party starter, this makes a great aperitif, but is also delightful when paired with everything from quiche at brunch to cheese plates at dinner, to late night French fries! Broc Cellars "Love Red" North Coast 2017 - ORGANICALLY GROWN
Country: USA / Region: CALIFORNIA / Appellation: NORTH COAST / Varietal(s): CARIGNAN+VALDIGUIÉ+ SYRAH+CABERNET SAUVIGNON --- Broc Cellars was founded by Chris Brockway and built on a philosophy of sourcing sustainable and organic fruit on the way to creating exceptional wines. He takes a hands-off approach, allowing nature to be in charge, using only organic growing practices. This is the fifth bottling of Love Red, and grapes were primarily sourced from 50-70 year old vines in Solano County's Green Valley. Green Valley is small strip of land, about three miles long and a mile wide, tucked between the south-eastern corner of Napa Valley and southwestern edge of Suisun Valley. It’s unique in that it still contains many of its old-vine carignan and valdiguié vineyards on clay-loam soils. This is predominantly a field blend with a small percentage of syrah blended in from neighboring Wirth Ranch and Parenti Ranch (both vineyards also contribute valdiguié to the blend.) This wine, like all Broc Cellars wines, uses native yeast for fermentation. Bright and joyful, this juicy, light-bodied red will have you falling, well, in love! Graceful on the palate, it offers up plenty of clean red berries, hints of spicy anise, and vibrant acidity. Try this with herbed roast chicken with garlic mashed potatoes. Organically grown.
Salem Wine Co. Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills 2017 - SUSTAINABLY GROWN
Country: USA / Region: OREGON / Appellation: WILLAMETTE VALLEY - EOLA-AMITY HILLS / Varietal(s): PINOT NOIR --- Salem Wine Company is a project by Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman, who were behind the highly sought after Evening Land, Sandhi, and Domaine de la Côte wines. Near Salem, Oregon, about an hour's drive southeast of Portland, lies the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, which is contained entirely within the larger Willamette Valley AVA, established in 2006. The name Eola comes from Aeolus, the Greek god of winds, and it's those winds that define this AVA's character, as cool sea breezes are funneled over the hills, rapidly cooling the vineyards but also increasing evaporation. Foliage is thinner and vines are challenged to produce their fruit, gaining complexity as they respond to unique climactic changes. Most of the fruit for this cuvée comes from the renowned, biodynamically farmed Seven Springs Vineyard, and is dry farmed from all volcanic soils. This 100% pinot noir is aged for 15 months in neutral oak barrels, and the purity of fruit really shines though. It is delicate and elegant with silky tannins and a streak of earth. A showstopping addition to any meal, open this with fennel garlic pork roast. Sustainably grown.
