Renato Vicario and Janette Wesley own and operate two organic/sustainable farms, in Tuscany and South Carolina - a true transatlantic venture! The Italian farm is named “The Garden of Earthly Delights”, and the Hieronymus Bosch inspiration carries over to their labels as well, which bear details from the iconic paintings. Many of the fruits, herbs, and spices are grown on these farms, and the spirits are sourced exclusively from non-GMO grains and fruits, and do not include any chemical additives or artificial flavors. Crafted using centuries-old traditional methods, olive leaf liqueur has a truly ancient history, given as a tonic to visitors of the Umbrian temple of Jupiter Apennine, and even mentioned in Dante’s Divine Comedy. This bottle is made with the tender young leaves from old olive trees, grown on Vicario’s family farm in Cortona, Italy, and finished with lemon in South Carolina. A fresh, delicate amaro, this is versatile and charming, whether served on its own (room temp or chilled), used to enliven a cocktail, or paired with ice cream or crepes.
